bear vs. cobra

We all know times are tough. 401ks all across the land are in the shitter, there's the credit crunch, the housing market's in the toilet. These facts are not new or novel in any way, but this is where our story starts -- in a once great country struggling its way back from the brink. The path is dimly lit, but it IS lit.

Our future hope lies in a return to nature, in a return to an appreciation of nature's struggles. Every creature has its own struggles and enemies. The question is this, do we fight nobly like the great beasts of nature or cowardly, like men?

Cobra vs mongoose? We all know how that story ends (big ups to you Rikki Tikki Tavi).

Bear vs. bull? Jeesh... give me a fucking break. So trite.

George Thorogood once asked, "Who do you love?" And now I ask the same question, "Who do you love?" And more importantly, who do you hate?

Well, the grizzly bear hates the cobra and the cobra hates the grizzly bear, but buried in this hatred lies a deep respect and a mighty appreciation. In this battle we have two foes who cannot exist with out each other. It's some true ying yang shit. However, there will be blood on the tracks, and blood in the street and blood in whatever forest or location these beasts do battle.

And this battle is eternal. This struggle is timeless. Victory is not easy, but the fear of defeat keeps these opponents locked in battle, even as the black of death begins to creep in at the corners, dimming the light of consciousness.

BUT, there still is light. And this light must serve as guidance. This light must serve as inspiration to us all.

Will we listen? I hope so.

One if by land. Two if by sea. Three if by chance.

The choice is ours and ours alone. It's in our hands.
